Hi, My name is Joanne and I am writing to tell you about a country that no longer exists: Italy.
What is Italy? Italy is a country in the center of Europe, bordering on France, Switzerland and Austria, if I remember well.
I woke up, I will have a month’s vacation after a year of work. Turning my computer on, where to spend a nice holiday? In Rome, in Rome I want to go! First thing: the flight. I link to this site, this one … no existing flight with destination Italy.
Arriving at the office, on the lunch break I start asking my colleagues if they’ve ever been to Italy. They start responding: “Italy where?” They ask me if it’s somewhere in the United States. I understand they are kidding me, after a while I’m tired and I do not talk about it anymore.
That night at home, I search for the search portal: “where to eat well in Italy?” The answers I find are: “Maybe you were looking for: sea of Italy?”
There must be an error, click on the map search. Here’s a shot: in the results the map of Europe has appeared, without the country I’m talking about, in the form of a boot!
I am not referring to the “sea of Italy”, but to a real nation I know. I’m not mad, Italy really exists!
I’ve been to Sicily, one of the largest islands in the “Mediterranean Sea”, so it’s called. Sicily is a wonderful island in the form of a triangle, a place with sun, sea, but also mountains and everything that can serve to live a happy life.
I have an idea: to call my contacts in Sicily. The phone rings, but on the other hand they answer me in French. Where did I call?
I’m looking for the great works that have created the Italians, I find that everything exists but was not created by them. The Gioconda? The work of a Frenchman (explained why it is in France).
The fiat 500? A Volkswagen brand.
Italy really existed.
